In most instances, riders will be upgraded upon achieving a specified number of Series points which may be accumulated over 2 years. A rider that is upgraded during the season will retain half their points from the previous grade only to the next ability category. These points are only applicable to grading within the TT Series. Only races that are part of the State Series will be used as part of the upgrade points.
The following table will be used for determining points need to upgrade:
i) C-grade to B Grade: 20 points / B-grade to A Grade: 30 Points
ii) Riders who win a grade by more than 10% will be upgraded automatically.
iii) The aggregate is based on the ITT Series only - no points will be awarded for interstate or club and combine events.
iv) A rider wishing to compete in a category other than that listed on his or her license must obtain prior written permission from the CV.
v) Riders who compete in a National Road Series event are automatically moved to A Grade.
vi) All first year J19 will be put into C Grade
vii) All J19 may be given an exemption for B grade under the following circumstances: - earned selection to an Institute of Sport, finished amongst the top-5 riders in the National Championship Road Race J17, finished amongst the top-3 riders in the National Championship Time Trial J17, earned B Grade or above points in the Victorian Road Series.
Jerseys will be awarded to all series winners. Trophies will be awarded to the top three of each category at the annual CV Awards.
