Important News: In consultation with the Australian Sports Commission, BMX Australia, MTB Australia and the State/Territory Cycling Organisations, the Cycling Australia Coaching Commission has passed the decision that as of the 1st January 2010, a First Aid qualification will be a mandatory pre-requisite for all coaches wishing to attend a coach training program, at all levels, across all disciplines. The CycleSkill course is specifically targeted at the coach who desires to assist novice cyclists in the areas of bicycle skills, road worthiness, the correct choice and fitting of cycling equipment and optimising bicycle set-up using existing equipment. The course duration is one day.
The Level 1 coaching course is for the coach who assists club and state level cyclists to develop their fitness and hone their racing skills. This course addresses basic fitness, skill development, nutrition, strength and conditioning, and an understanding of drugs in sport. The course is two full days.
